Child-friendly restaurants

  • Ze Pleygrounde

Centro Yoga Om, Vilanova i la Geltru Image

Ze Pleygraounde gets very busy on weekends and during schoolholidays (reservations recommended). They serve a fairly basic (and not cheap) menu of salads, quiches and pastas with a “menu enfant” for 8.50 euros. Whilst it may not be the finest dining Toulouse has to offer, the fact that the kids can play, they have high chairs and kiddie toilets, makes it an appealing option nevertheless!

    Comments:

“The kids run around and are completely safe. A special door ensures they can’t wander out of the play /cafe area, so mums can have a natter and a cuppa while the children play on jungle gyms or video games or read books” (HS, November 2011)

  • Maison Jouval, Toulouse

    Recommended by Helen Saks

Centro Yoga Om, Vilanova i la Geltru Image

Not specifically child friendly and a bit squashy for push chairs, but it is one of the few places in Toulouse to boast a changing table. And they do great cakes and the owner lady is very friendly!

“It’s so nice to find a coffee shop with good hot choc and a changing table. Sounds so easy, but actually a rarity”
    (HS, November 2011)

  • L’Estancia, Aussonne

    Recommended by Helen Saks

Centro Yoga Om, Vilanova i la Geltru Image

This is a big restaurant, with a huge terrace in summer, set on a lake about 20mins outside Toulouse centre. The owners offer the kids a colouring pencils and some toys and there is a big stage, where the band plays on a Saturday night (perfect for kids to play on for Sunday lunch.) A great meal of steak and moeulleux chocolat is guaranteed to give everyone a lovely siesta!

  • Pizza Marzano, Place du Capitole

    Recommended by Helen Saks

Part of the Pizza Express chain, you know what you are getting. Customer service is not their selling point being in the centre of Toulouse, but the have high chairs, colouring sets and kiddie menus.

Situated opposite St Agnes metro station this is a kiddie friendly cafe with play area for little ones.

    Comments:
"A nice, cosy and understated café where you can go to meet other mums, other children and have a cup of tea ! This small café caters for all children from babies to toddlers. There are toys, and planned activities such as initiation to music, baby massage, second hand toy sales. They also cater for birthdays and other events, you just have to ask the two ladies who run the café, who are always there and always ready to help!" (SL, Dec 2011)
