Why did you decide to move there?
I found Paris too restrictive in terms of space with 2 small children!

Do you work and if so what do you do?
I am a trained teacher and for the past 2 year I have been teaching at lErmitage International School, but prior to that I set up my business Daisy Roots Paris.
What was your experience of having a baby in Paris (if relevant)?
Confusing and scary! I found out I was pregnant the first weekend we moved out here - my french wasnt very good at the time - it still isnt!!
How well integrated would you say you and your children are?
Very well. My children go to french schools and there is also a thriving anglophone community out here.
What language do you speak to your children?
Do you rent or own a property and how did you find the renting/buying process?
We own our house. It was fairly tricky but we had an english-speaking notaire which helped!
Do you think it essential for someone to speak French when relocating to Paris?
How welcoming have the Parisians been towards you and your family?
Surprisingly, everyone has been lovely to us all - I have had only one tiny negative experience in the local butchers!!

Why did you choose this school/these schools and are you happy with your choice?
It is very important that my kids have excellent/native french, as we are staying here forever - with both of us being British, it seemed the logical thing to do. I am veryhappy with my choice.
Are there any services, activities for kids, day-trips for kids, family-friendly restaurants or kids’ shops you’d like to recommend?
Trinity Tots (www.trinitytots.fr) is a non-profit school that has taught my kids how to read and write in english. A truly brilliant resource here in M-L.

What advice would you give for anyone having a baby or thinking of relocating to Paris/ Maisons-Lafitte with children?
Do it! Lots of people ar ehere to help you with advice and support, which is much needed when raising a child away from family.
