Alsace

Ecomusée, Ungersheim

The Alsace Ecomuseum is a reconstitution of a real Alsatian village, with 73 houses which were dismantled and rebuilt here. It will present various events throughout the 2008 season. The park celebrates the pre-Lent carnival and relive popular Easter traditions: search for the Easter hare and take part in the Easter Monday egg race… and many other events. The craftsmen and women demonstrate their trade, you can take boat or cart trips, just as it was in the early 20th century. A delight for children to discover old-time Alsace.

Comments:

"A popular day out for children, this living museum shows how things were in the olden days in the Alsace. Good for several return visits! Worth a full day, but do-able in less." (KB, March 2011)
